This, unfortunately, won't apply to most of my watchers. Such is the nature of the internet. We revel in the ability to make friends in different cities, states, countries, hemispheres; unfortunately, sometimes some shit happens close to home.

So this is one of those occasions. If you're in NC, near NC and like driving, or you'll be in the area August 11th, read on. (Even if the above doesn't apply to you, I won't mind if you keep reading. Tell your friends, or something.)

So. I'm in the Air Force. Another term for the Air Force is "geeky branch of the military." There's a lot of class A anime geeks, RPG players, video game junkies, &c. to be found. That said, I've befriended a few of them, and promised to help one of them spread the word about this thing he's doing.

What thing? Why, a Con of course.
That's right. He's got a small (did I mention small?) business, called Otaku's, wherein he orders merchandise for people who want it and can't find it. Pretty honest profession. Well, in the interest of expanding his business enough to successfully call the Air Force quits (which I support wholeheartedly) he's throwing a bash-to-end-all-bashes. There's going to be Halo 2 matches, War Hammer goings-ons, a Magic: the Gathering tourney, Capoiera demos... the list is pretty long. Oh yeah, did I mention it's only five bucks? Can't beat a five dollar con.

Come on, kids. You know you haven't got anything else to do.
